On July 9, AvantGarde team members joined community volunteers in Liberty Hill, Texas, to support flood recovery efforts following the devastating storms in the Texas Hill Country over the July 4th weekend. Just 30 minutes from our headquarters, the town was hit hard, with many families left to rebuild from the ground up.
Former AG Project Manager and now newly elected Liberty Hill Mayor, Crystal Mancilla, reached out, and we immediately mobilized. AG CEO Rebecca Contreras, along with her husband David, showed up in full force, helping with land and home clean-up alongside dozens of volunteers from across Texas.
One moment that especially stood out: supporting a resilient family — a military veteran and his wife, both survivors of the foster care system — whose strength and gratitude deeply moved our team.
What we witnessed was the power of community: no red tape, no waiting — just boots on the ground, neighbors helping neighbors. From a strawberry farmer from Fredericksburg to volunteers driving in from hours away, this was service in its purest form.
At AG, we believe this is what leadership looks like — showing up when it counts.
