Our History – An Unlikely Pairing
AvantGarde, LLC, a “one stop shop” consultancy focused on optimizing people, process, strategy, and technology, was founded by Rebecca Contreras and Dr. Greg Portnoy. Rebecca, a former White House Official and Federal Chief Human Capital Officer, and Greg, a PhD Computer Scientist and the “brain” behind several e-government wide solutions such as FedBizOpps, grants.gov and EPLS, met in 2008 through a mutual business acquaintance. While an unlikely pairing, Rebecca and Greg soon realized that their combined expertise had the potential to become something great. Their initial conversations gave rise to the notion of a “holistic” approach to delivering services and solutions across two of the biggest financial investments of any organization – people and technology. This quickly ignited into additional brainstorms, which sparked their idea of joining forces as partners to form AvantGarde, LLC.
Since then, the AG team has expanded into a strong, expert team with past performance in over 70 distinct contracts. With more than 70% growth through client referral, AG serves clients with a focus on its people first and client satisfaction always. Today, our team is spread across various parts of the Country, with offices in the Washington, DC metro and Austin, Texas areas.
